An ideal starter Tegu set, the 14 piece set includes 2 medium columns, 4 long planks, 4 short planks, 2 cubes and 2 parallelograms - in bright rainbow tints. Powerful magnets in each block allow your child to bring rockets, dinosaurs and more to life!
Allow your children to become mini engineers as they discover countless ways the magnetic blocks click together - or sometimes repel. This is the perfect outlet to satisfy curiousity, and encourage open-ended play within the whole family as you all learn what is possible simply with a click and a clack of the Tegu blocks.
Younger children can hone their fine motor skills and learn shapes as they carefully sort through the different blocks and stack them any way they like. The Tegu blocks are suitable for everyone in the family, with older children learning about scale and problem solving, as well as incoporating with their other toys to create wonderful stories and role play. They can be used for counting, fractions, maths, physics, making this an ideal home educator resource, or within a Montessori setting.
Non-toxic water-based lacquers have been used to allow the natural wood grain to be visible, reminding us of the tactile and smooth quality of natural hard wood.
Please note: This product contains small magnets. Swallowed magnets can cause complications leading to serious infections and death. Seek immediate medical attention if magnets are swallowed or inhaled.
Tegu Dimensions Guide:
Sustainability, social change and a love of play are key to Tegu. From hand selecting every single tree with local Honduran cooperatives, where a single tree can create over 1200 sets of blocks, to planting up to 10 trees for each set sold. Tegu only purchases wood from FSC certified companies and uses a water-based lacquer incorporated with colour pigments, so the blocks are all non-toxic. The original Tegu block is 30mmx30mm – the perfect size for little hands, and this forms the basis for every single Tegu block made. Each magnet is specifically position within the block to aid play. Watch as your child discovers scale, fractions, fine motor skills, design and engineering, without even realising!
